How festive is that?
2 days before the party:
My holiday goodies from yesterday:
Peppermint-chocolate pinwheel cookies, broiled layer cake (with a close-up), apricot-filled star cookies, and black forest cherry cake.
Recipes available upon request!
Fabulous! I'll have to give this a go!
Martini recipe (from http://www.cdkitchen.com):
At least 2 days before serving: Combine 2 cups of granulated sugar and 1 cup of filtered water in a saucepan over medium heat; stir and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is slightly thickened (about 5 minutes). Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in 2 cups of fresh cranberries (they'll pop and cook in the hot liquid). Set aside at room temp for 2 hours. In a large bowl, combine the cranberry mixture and a fifth of vodka. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 days, stirring occasionally.
Strain the vodka into a pitcher, reserving the cranberries, and refrigerate until ready to serve. To serve, fill chilled martini glasses with the vodka, add a few cranberries to each glass, and garnish with a nice green lime wedge.
PS – the rest of the cranberries make a yummy sweet snack!
Hey, Thank you for my first Vox Comment š That Martini looks delicious…I might have to try that over the festive season. x
