Here are jobsite photos of the Rotunda stairs we built for the new New York Mets stadium. The design, formwork, and production of these precast concrete stairs took about 9 months, but the end result is breathtaking I think. They were shipped from our Saxonburg plant and installed in the stadium just before Christmas 2007. It’s a little hard from these photos to see the size of the stairs, but here’s a photo of some of us standing on the first set of 3 in our plant.
I can’t begin to say how proud I am of my father and of my son, who together built the forms to produce these 24 stairs, each of which weigh 12 tons, and which fit together perfectly.
