I got my Election Training notice in the mail today, so I signed up for the Oct 30 evening session. As an election official, we're required to attend training in the week prior to each election, so the county Bureau of Elections director can refresh us on the correct procedures, remind us how to set up the machines etc, and let us know about any changes or things to watch for in that election. We get paid $10 to attend, which I was surprised to learn the first time I did it – I guess because it's mandatory.
This will be my first presidential general election as an official, and it should be a busy one!
I think the most important thing is that you can keep an eye out for election thieves.
