Yes, we definitely have slugs around here, and there are sometimes some small ones hiding inside the lettuces when we get them – but generally not too bad. I know there are various organic methods that we've used at home to control them, mainly involving physically removing them or setting out something that attracts them such as beer or planks of wood, but I'm not sure what one does on a larger scale. I think in the case of some of the critters, they just plant enough of the veggie that there's enough for both them and us.

To clarify… it's not mine – I snapped this at the farm where I pick up my organic veggies each week. But some of it will be mine soon!
